    Quick pop-in

Busy, fun, relaxing week. Went running twice by the water, but my hubby hurt his ankle as he didn't bring the right shoes. So we have toned it down to a LOT of walking. Been eating pretty healthy too with just a bite or two or sweets and keeping away from all that fried, doughy goodness. Hoping to see something good on the scale on the Wednesday. I get back on Saturday, but I'm going to put the scale away so I don't use it beforehand and see if I can surprise myself.

I love the beach, although who knew in Miami that the main beach is topless. My husband keeps asking if those bathing suit bottoms are actually thongs or are they rigging them like that. Half and half. A lot of Europeans.

Planning for a big storm to come in here this afternoon, so going to pack everything up this morning so that if we need to make a quick exit we can. Only problem is we didn't rent a car, but we will figure it out.

I hope everyone else is having a good week. Keep up the healthy living. See you on the flipside.

Lula- are you in the path of tropical storm bonnie too?

So apparently the tropical storm, bonnie, is going to go right over us, literally the eye is projected to be directly over our head at 1 today.. I am a little freaked out because this is my first major tropical storm/hurricane.. But we have been working really hard around base for a few days to make it safe. and all the participants are safely on base.

Lindsey, I have an HRM. I adore it. I found mine (Reebok Precision XT) on a clearance sale for $25. Best money ever spent. I'd recommend one to anyone! Much more accurate than using the general calories burned listed.

ps be safe for those in the path of bonnie. you will do fine. just make sure anything that can blow is tied down or put away. and stay away from structures that can blow over easy. we had DH(50) and GD2(1) birthday swim party during a tropical storm. it was such a big birthday we didn't want to cancel so we swim. it was still warm just a little windy and cloudy.

good evening all.... I have had my gd for the past 2 days. She goes home tomorrow. She is really pretty good. It is just so hot here that it is difficult to venture outside. There should be some relief from the heat on Sunday. Maybe! Just checking on everyone posts and trying to keep up. I am exhausted and going to bed. Nite to all.

Well, I was determined not to "overindulge" on my trip as I wanted to enjoy it and have enough confidence to wear these bikinis my husband had requested. If I overeat and eat too much junk, it always takes me a couple of days to get my body and mind to feeling right again. Of course, Miami is all about the alcohol and partying apparently. Hubby and I went to a restaurant after our run, and they were PUSHING drinks on us. Buy one get one free. Hubby decided to have a margarita and asked for a small size. You would have thought we had asked them to dance naked for us. Still gave him a big one and then kept saying "the second one is free, just take it". We resisted, but it was funny.

Anyway, my trick for my vacation that I wanted to share with you is this: I didn't want to deprive myself, so when my husband would buy something gooey, yummy, and delicious, but I knew the repercussions if I overindulged, I would make the "perfect bite". I would take the time to assemble it together to get all the yumminess in it that I wanted to taste, and then I would chew it slowly. Having the "perfect bite" insured that I got all the goodness I was craving, and I honestly didn't need another bite. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation, rocked out in two bikinis with semi-confidence, and had an absolutely fabulous time.

I hope the scale agrees this coming week :blushing:

    Glad to be back gals!

B - how did you weather the storm? My guy had me out ON THE BEACH during it. Scary hairy, but we survived, albeit soaked. Two hours later, the sun was out and life went on. Very strange. Hope you did okay.

Lula - LOVE the new profile picture! So cute!

I took the Garmin back (it didn't count calories if I wasn't covering any distance... Weird. So, I bought a Polar. I think I'm obsessed with it... MFP and the machines at the gym are WAY off for me, so this is going to be a real eye-opener. I'm going to clean the house this afternoon and see how many calories I burn. I think this is the first time I've ever been excited about cleaning the house! :)

    Have a great day all!

Cathy - Sorry you aren't feeling well. Maybe give your body and mind a rest for a day or so. I hope you feel better soon.

LHuffman24 - Thanks. That pic was one of the ones NOT taken in the storm :)

    AFM:
My challenge is NOT stepping on the scale til Wednesday. Even last night, we went out with friends, but I had already overindulged a little in ice cream :blushing: earlier and wasn't feeling hungry, so I decided not to get anything. I took one bite of my hubby's sandwich and one "perfect bite" of my brother-in-law's cake and that was it. So I'm feeling good about how I'm doing. I'm afraid the scale will disappoint my efforts. But I'm going to kick butt at the gym for the next two days, and we will see how it goes from there.

I hope everyone has a great and successful week!

Wow so much to catch up on. WE R BACK FROM VACATION YEAH!!! Ok I know that sounds bad but I am happy to be back to a routine again, it makes me feel at ease. Had a wonderful time in Yellowstone, love the wildlife, but must say highlight of my trip was in the Grand Tetons at the lake. We enjoyed a nice evening sitting around had 1 drink and then grilled out it was so relaxing, plus got some great pics of dd and my dad sitting next to the water playing so great.

Well I did pretty well over vacation I think I gained 1 lb but that is ok with me it is vacation, so I am hitting it hard today and plan on being good for the rest of this challeng, which should take some work. We had a girl quit at my work so in turn I am taking most of her hours until they can find a replacement. So I will be working 11 out of the next 14 days, crazy but determined to plan out meals to make it easier.

Cathy - sounds like life has been a little crazy, hang in there. Things will work themselves out and I hope you son is able to move in with his buddy soon. I know you love him but having your house back to normal relieves alot of stress. Take care

Lula - Love the pic as well! glad to hear you had such a wonderful vacation, way to go on the runs and walks that is great to hear!

Lindsey - CLEANING.... just kidding let us know how it goes.

Well off to get my morning started, have to get little one up and around, need to run some errands. Plus have so much laundry to do it is not even funny, vacation for over a week equally lots of laundry for 3 people.

Will hop on later, take care everyone it is great to be back.

P.S. - Tiff how did the test results turn out and I hope you had a fantastic b-day!

Still having problems with emotional night time binging, undoing any 'goodness' I was able to do during the day.
Custody hearing scheduled for last week was canceled due to attorney illness. Reschedule will be late in August, possibly the day before school starts.
Asset division won't be done until after custody is decided.
The divorce is 'done' but only in legal dissolution of the marriage, nothing more.
It's been a year and a half. I feel like this won't be complete until December.
I still miss him. He was my best friend and soul mate, when he felt like being human. I still dream about him every night. My heart breaks every morning as I wake.
The two antidepressants don't seem to be helping, which makes me think how bad off I'd be without them. The therapy doesn't seem to be helping and I have a great therapist.
The weight is just becoming so heavy and I'm crushing under the weight of it all.
God keeps sending me reminders to carry on, that He is with me. This morning, it was this song on the radio.

He Will Carry Me by Mark Schultz

    I call, You hear me
    I’ve lost it all
And it’s more than I can bear
    I feel so empty
    You’re strong
    I’m weary
    I’m holdin’ on
But I feel like givin’ in
    But still You’re with me

    Chorus:
And even though I’m walkin’ through
    The valley of the shadow
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
    Whose love will comfort me
And when all hope is gone
And I’ve been wounded in the battle
He is all the strength that I will ever need
    He will carry me

    I know I’m broken
    But You alone
Can mend this heart of mine
    You’re always with me

    Chorus:

And even though I feel so lonely
    Like I’ve never been before
You never said it would be easy
But You said you’d see me through
    The storm

    Chorus
