Spurtle owners unite! Who owns one of those quintessential kitchen tools?

Btw, I don't eat porridge, but it's brilliant for soups and stews. And it adds some desperately needed innuendo to my kitchen :D

I don't own one but I do own something that looks similar to it.

Eta: I don't use it for porridge.

    Never heard of it.

I thought maybe it was a cross between a sports car and a turtle. 😟

    For stiring things??

Wikipedia suggests it's a prehistoric stirring device that looks to serve no real purpose outside of the aforementioned innuendo.

Yes, it's a Scottish porridge, broth and strew stirrer. It doesn't create drag like a spoon, and thus whatever you cook it stays smooth and doesn't form sticking together bits.

The spurtle is a wooden Scottish kitchen tool, dating from the fifteenth century, that is used to stir porridge, soups, stews and broths.

I've never needed one but now I want one. I'd probably go with the mini paddle one as it seems like it would stir soups and stews better.

Well, innuendo is important. But I love stews and soups, and for that I find it very useful as well.

We all know what you really want the mini paddle
For. To stir cream into your coffee. Just admit it.

actually, if anyone used a spurtle, it's extra smooth and without clumps.

Anyone else, when they see a picture of someone in their house, look in the background to see if theres a ghost/creature lurking around?? 👀
    I'm like
"Goblin, nope, ghost, nope, fairy?? (Sweet Jesus please let there be a fairy!) Nope (😭)" etc.
