Hey there, awesome women in your forties! do any of you have a photo to share of you doing something awesome and showing off your crazy in shape bodies? Bonus points if you are 5 ft 6 in tall and about 25% body fat give or take, that's my goal. I am 42 and reached my peak of fitness last summer, but have since fallen off the wagon. I am feeling discouraged because I know the older you get the harder it gets. I fear not being able to get back at it, but I know that's just fear. Help me! I need some motivation! If you don't have a photo, a story of you doing something awesome or overcoming a fitness obstacle post 40 would be just as motivating. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for your help!

Does biking count?? Lol! I am 5'7 and 47 years old5 -
I went from obese and sedentary to normal BMI and being active, been maintaining my goal weight for almost 6 years now. I’m going to be 45 in a couple of months and never felt better in my life!
I only found the confidence to wear bikinis in my 40’s and wear them every chance I get! Don’t know my body fat percentage but my guess is somewhere between 25-30% (?) I am 5’11” and weigh 167 lbs give or take a few lbs within my maintenance range.
I became a runner, trail running is my real passion! It’s really whipped my body into shape over the 5+ years I’ve been at it. I’m actually a barefoot runner which some find strange but I find it feels very free and fun! Don’t let age be a limiting factor, it’s never too late to improve your fitness and health! Good luck on your journey!

Don’t believe the older you get the harder it gets. It’s not.
I’d never exercised in my life until I was 54.
I’m not a ‘natural’ when it comes to exercise, so I do a bit of all sorts and usually train in a way that I will get the best out of my annual vacation.
I’m not willing to be the little old woman seeing the world from a coach seat, im working on being the little old woman experiencing the world.
First bench press, over 60.
The above was training for this trip which included, snorkeling, learnt to swim, zip lining for the first time, needed strong legs for the uphill climb through the jungle, hiking & walking as training, cliff climb and rappelled throughly waterfall in the back ground, weight training started as well as wall climbing.
And just enjoying life a year ago today when I turned 65.
Don’t give up just because you think you are getting old, think ahead- what do you want to be doing in 20 or 30 years.
I’ve accomplished more (physically) between 55-65 than I did in my first 55 years. (A lot of it in a bikini!).
Cheers, h.13 -

Thanks @pinuplove. You would die laughing at me today....
Past lunchtime, still in my dressing gown, slightly jaded after a celebration last night (friends birthday), right eye almost swollen shut with a mosquito bite, trying to pluck up courage to get ready for a friends wedding renewal (outdoors in the pouring rain) this evening.
I’m looking and feeling every one of my 66 years. Ha ha ha, living and loving life.
Cheers, h.

I'm also 42. I don't have a pic to show right now, other than my profile. I used to do gymnastics and dance, but began lifting and running a few years ago. I also really like doing workout videos! My main obstacle is keeping up my weight training through set backs and gym closures.2
