Garmin 235 for swimming?

Has anyone taken their Garmin 235 into the pool and it survived? It says it's waterproof but I am nervous. I would like to start tracking swims in an effort to maybe prep for a sprint tri.

I swim and shower all the time with my Fenix. Never had a 235, but Garmin has a good warranty program from everything I've heard. If they say your watch is waterproof and it isn't, they'll replace it.0

I don’t have that watch but have used others. If it says it’s waterproof, it is.
Sometimes the instructions say not to press any buttons while in water because it could break a seal. I’ve never had an issue with that.0 -

100% - It is in Garmin's DNA to be in a pool. All units that track activities, like lap swimming, will be just fine.
Surely if some random weirdness happened and you told Garmin, that lap swimming, with you new model, it got water damage they would replace it in a hot minute.
That just doesn't happen nowadays. Go ahead, swim without concern.
(I swam in the ocean yesterday with my 645)

The Garmin 235 has a waterproof rating of 5 ATM which mean's it's waterproof in terms of swimming. Here's a nice table they made - https://www.garmin.com/en-US/legal/waterrating2
