I’ve dropped 7 lbs in 29 days.

Had heart attack, two stents, quad bypass 4 1/2 years ago. They managed to kill my thyroid with afib medication. Trying to lose the 70 pounds I ballooned up when the thyroid stopped. Good news is I quit a 40 year smoking habit when they told me I was having a heart attack and haven’t ever looked at them again.Anyway, trying to find a mix of what works with my new normal has been very disheartening as I have pain when I exercise that makes me scared that I will mess up my already messed up body. Lol. I’m not giving up. I will find a way.
Would love to meet new friends with similar stories.

Welcome. Know this- calorie counting works. Don’t be discouraged if it takes a while to get it up and running. There’s a learning curve.
If I were in your shoes I talk to my Dr about how to pick a calorie deficit. But get a number, plan a menu, start a food diary and try to hit your number. Keep your food diary going no matter what. Log everything, mistakes and lapses too. Don’t know how many calories in that meal or dish? Make a good faith estimate, put down a number and keep going.
Actually exercise is overrated as a weight loss strategy. There’s a lot of health benefits from exercise, but weight loss tales place mostly in the kitchen. Be persistent and you’ll get there. Never give up.1
