Carbs for type 2

I recently became diabetic and have been put on a 4 carb per meal diet. I can't find an answer to a question. I use Sara Lee multigrain 45 calorie bread. 2 slices is one carb so if I have nothing else for breakfast except coffee, can i have 4 slices of toast which totals 2 carbs?

You could, but...
Adding fats and protein would do you more good in terms of nutrition, overall health and even blood sugar control. Two slices plus peanut butter or cheese, for example, would probably still give you the same carbs, but keep you full longer and contribute to other nutrients you need for overall health.1
