What makes a good MFP blog?

I've been reading the popular member-blogs here today, wondering what aspects of an MFP blog make it something people like to read (beyond the baseline requirement of coherent writing competency)?

If you read blogs here, is there anything in particular you've noticed about the blogs that you like and the views of the authors you return to?

    If they can find a way to sprinkle in a Winston Churchill reference or perhaps a coupon code for whey powder, I'm in there.
    Anything less however and my eyeballs are going elsewhere.
