Just posting to say g'day, and to make myself accountable to this journey. It started with minor surgery on 12 July for elbow OA. When I stepped on the scales at pre-op, it was a watershed moment. I shed tears. The nurse was lovely about it, but I was so embarrassed.

I had further planned surgery on 13 August, and under medical supervision, went for a diet of 1200-1400 calories a day to prepare. I've made a massive effort in drinking water, and found 16:8 fasting has helped. As well as logging on MFP.

I head back to GP in a couple of weeks, and we'll look at increasing calories and introducing mild exercise to moderate the weight loss.

So there it is. Just 40 more kilos in 12 months... I can do this.

If you haven't already, read the stickies at the top of the getting started forum. Very informative and helpful.

Good luck with your doctor's appointment and healing process. One day at a time.
