I am new here. Is there a way I can change my measurement settings to measure everything in grams instead of ounces?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you referring to food entries in the MFP database?

Unfortunately, the "verified" green check marks in the MFP database are used for both user-created entries and admin-created entries that MFP pulled from the USDA database. To find admin entries for whole foods, I get the syntax from the USDA database and paste that into MFP.

All entries that MFP pulled from the USDA database should have grams.

Note: any MFP entry that includes "USDA" was user entered.

For packaged foods, I verify the label against what I find in MFP.

No. The measurement units used for a database entry are determined by the person who created the entry. A few years back they apparently ran a script to create metric options for all the database entries originally created in imperial units (and vice versa, I think), and, trust me, you don't want them to do that again if you at all value having accurate entries to choose from.
