Mini bikes?

Are they any good at burning calories? Used to have a full bike at home but couldn't justify the space. Just looking for something compact and effective.

depends on which one you get. some have larger cranks than others, some have higher resistance than others. it's best imo to get magnetic resistance rather than belt drive as it's smoother.
i had a magnetrainer that totally rocked. my legs got a lot stronger and i lost weight.

it's probably one of the highest quality ones i've owned and well worth the money.
while the deskcycle is made by the same folks and is also very high quality, the cranks are smaller on the deskcycle.

i haven't owned this one, but it looks good and costs $50 less than the magnetrainer and the deskcycle

i wouldn't recommend this kind - they're cheaper but wear out pretty fast.
