What are competitive running times in your area?

Options
I live in a pretty fit town, so I think my perception of fast running times is a bit skewed.

For women, 5k winning times are often sub 00:19, half marathon around 1:20, and marathons around 3:00. These times are for road races, as trail races have so much variability. Elevation is about 5,000 feet. I don't pay too much attention to men's times, but they are, of course, a fair bit faster.

What times win races in your city/town?

To win the half marathon I ran a few weeks ago, I would have needed to finish it in better than 01:11:00...
    5.7km was ran in 00:19:37
    10km in 00:33:05
The full was won in 02:27:17
The wheelie full in 03:59:23 (women's times)

    Gold Coast

For smaller events the times are more in line with the ones you have listed for women, and yes the men's times are alot faster.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, those times are pretty consistent in the larger races here in which sponsored athletes/pros participate. I'm also just generally curious about the amateur times for small, local races (say, fewer than 500 participants). One reason I ask is that I placed high in my age division in one town and barely cracked the top 40 in another with nearly identical times.

If you are curious, check out something called an age-grade, which will compare your times against those locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
