Vegan/Plant-Based

I’m looking to connect with those who have or mostly have a vegan/plant-based diet with open diaries. Please add me! My diary is open to friends. :)

It’s simple to log fruits & vegetables but how do you go about logging your recipes?

I’m not exactly vegan, but most of my meals are at least vegetarian. I’m a flexitarian which means to me “mostly vegetarian, vegan when convenient, but will sparingly eat meat on occasion with zero guilt.” If that’s not what you’re looking for, no worries.
For recipes that make multiple servings, I write new recipes as they are made, log the recipe in MFP, and figure out how many servings there are as I portion it out into containers for later. I have been eating a vegan celery/veggie soup, for example, which I call Celery Souper Soup. I also have an excellent Fudgy Sweet Potato Brownie. They freeze well and are amazing reheated in the microwave with some almond milk. I’m happy to swap recipes & be friends if you’d like. Long as you don’t judge me for bacon bits on some of my salads, or the occasional hamburger or chicken etc.

Hey there! I am a vegan/plant-based eater with a diary open to friends. Happy to connect if you like!
    I log recipes this way:
Food > Recipes > enter a URL or select "Add Recipe Manually" (I always use the manual option)
On the next screen, note that you have to actively select the number 1 by clicking the up arrow for servings if it's a recipe for 1 serving (move the number up for more servings of course).
Then choose "Match Ingredients" and edit items and amounts as needed.
    Hope this helps!

Hi! I’m not 100% plant-based either but working on transitioning my diet towards it. My current struggle is ice cream which obviously is not plant-based but I’ve found an alternative, cashew milk ice cream, which is pretty delicious!

I do eat meat from time to time but it’s not a staple in my food intake. You just won’t see it or dairy products or gluten products in my food diary often. :)

Yes, thank you! I have a handful of new vegan & gluten free recipes I want to try but wasn’t sure how to log it.

There's a group here called Happy Herbivores where you may find recipes and more people with open diaries.

I’m vegan and my diary is open. I’m happy to chat and exchange recipes via pm if you like.

Swedish Glacé ice cream is vegan and inexpensive. The chocolate flavour isn’t great, but the vanilla is delicious and creamy. Ben and Jerry’s vegan ice cream is very good but very expensive. Vegan magnums are great. I’m a big fan of ice cream, I’ve tried most of them!
