So myfitnesspal worked out that I’m allowed 1200 calories per day. Under the exercise section it has a figure of 242 calories. Is this the goal amount of how many calories I’m to burn per day that myfitnesspal worked out for me?

You are burning calories 24/7 - exercise is not "have to." You can eat fewer calories and/or move more.
1200 calories is the amount of food you eat for weight loss. This is based on the weekly goal you chose. This number is before exercise. That means if you choose to exercise you earn additional calories. Log exercise and eat a portion of calories earned.
If you have an activity tracker synced to My Fitness Pal you can earn additional calories for activity/exercise above your stated activity level.1 -
Hi great thank you for the information.
Is the activity tracker like a counting steps wrist band or something. I really want to get one but not sure what to get.
Also I posted a screen shot of the figure I was talking about under exercise part. Just wondering where that figure came from, did myfitnesspal work that figure out according to my weight loss goals?
