Pulled hip muscle

I managed to pull my hip muscle a few days ago running. I have been trying to rest and when I ran on Tuesday I tried to take it easy. Well I tried running today and I was unable to because right away I had pain in my hip. Does anyone know anyways on how to heal faster? I know I need to rest, but how long should I give it? I really hate going a few days without running...

    I'd give it a week anyway. Hopefully it won't take longer. Use a heating pad, warm soaks in the tub, etc. If it not better by then I'd see your doctor.
