morning all I have just come back to this site left it for ages , now I'm on a mission.
I've just got to lose some weight as I'm on a list for a hip replacement! I have arthritis in my knee as well but have had that now injected 3 times but this last one has not had the effect as the others.
I can ride a bike, still do some ice skating but not as often as I would like to.
I also have a underactive thyroid that the medication does not seem to help with weight loss and tiredness & sleeplessness.
I am now trying very hard to up my exercise on my spinning bike & floor work.I very rarely sit down I sew a lot & do lots of other hand work.
If anyone has similar problems and is losing weight I'd love to hear your story

Surely you sit down for your sewing and handicrafts? I used to do lots of scrapbooking but I've cut that back and increased exercise - walking or swimming would probably be helpful for you (no hills or stairs if your knee is bad). I also have bad knees and a dodgy hip, I've recently had to buy knee sleeves so i can keep up with zumba and they are really helpful, just give that extra support.0

Hi there
I feel for you. I also have an underactive thyroid which took a while to diagnose but is now controlled by medication.
I have always been generally active but to lose weight, you should really focus on your food intake. In fact, I have successfully lost weight with almost no excersize.
Just be diligent with tracking your food and following MFP guidelines, and the weight will come off. The stickies at the top of the forums are super helpful.
Good luck!1
