DISCOURAGED! Measurements going up. But should I be?

I'm actually so depressed right now ...
Okay so I have about 20lbs of fat that I would like to lose,
And I decided to do a 30 day squat challenge, 30 day plank challenge,
30 day ab challenge and 30 day arm challenge.
I know that with 20-25 lbs to lose, I probable won't see drrraaastic results under
the fat until I lose weight. But its a start, you know. People say they wish they would
Have done strength training while they were still fat so those beautiful muscles
Will shine bright when the weight is finally gone.
BUUTTTTT, I've been doing these combined with 45 mins of cardio so that I'll
Burn fat and build muscle. And now ... My measurements are going back up!!!
I'm so discouraged, but I am quite dramatic by nature.
I also measured on the 14th and again today just to see if I made any progress.
But I'm up in my waist, bust and hips ... I focus on these to see if I'm LOSING weight.
I didnt pay much attention to my legs going up, cause I didnt mind extra inches there.
I eat back the calories that I burn, and sometimes extra.
But I was benefiting until today.
Am I on the wrong track, or right track? What do I need to adjust?
I can't see ALLLLLL of the work I do going to waste.
So please ... HEELLPP!

What sort of timeframes are you talking about? If you just started, you'll experience some water retention in the muscles.
If this is happening over a month or two, you'll probably want to take a good look at your intake and exercise calorie calculations.0 -
Double post. I'm on my phone and I have clumsy fingers.0

Could be your problem. MFP often overestimates calories burned through exercise. However, without knowing your stats and looking at your food and exercise diaries, I can't say for sure.0 -
I started the challenges August 7th and 8th, but I've been training
For almost 4 weeks. I should be finished no later than September 10th0
