I opened my diary up, in 30 days, I have only lost 4lbs and I need some insight from anyone! Lol In 2012, I lost 106lbs and I am working to do that again, but in hindsight I think I did it in a very unhealthy way. I would love friends too! Accountability isn’t an issue for me, I will definitely pump you up! Thank you!!
Edited to include that I have had my thyroid checked and it is normal.

If you've lost 4 lbs in 30 days, that is a healthy and sustainable rate of loss. I don't think you need to review your diary. I think you need to review your expectations. Last time you lost and regained. What can you change in your approach to not repeat that?26

Your diary is closed. How much do you weigh and how tall are you? 4 lbs in a month is a pound a week, which is a very normal and safe rate of loss.7

I went to diary settings and marked it public, is there something else I need to do? ... and to speak to my expectations, you may be right. I was eating under 1200 and working out like a fiend. I was losing 13lbs a month and I know that is not healthy. I lost those 4lbs the first week in and not much else after that.
Otherwise, started at 286, today’s weight was 281.2 and I’m 5’31 -
Hmm, still says private. Did you save the setting?
At your height and weight you could lose a little faster. Definitely don't eat under 1200 though.3 -
I added you, checked my sharing and it’s public...2

It is too soon for you to know what your actual rate of loss is if it has only been a month. I would give it two more weeks while keeping things about the same as they are now. You can always adjust your calories later.7

Ok! I took a quick look and I'm seeing a lot of cups and teaspoons when it comes to sauces and stuff. That will never be accurate, so for now, try to weigh absolutely everything in grams and ounces. There's a chance you're eating more than you think.12

I find this so ridiculous. If you're actually measuring cups and teaspoons, yes it is accurate if you know what brand it is or the recipe used.
Not everyone is willing to submit to the level of micro-control that using a food scale represents.
1 pound a week is a perfectly acceptable and sustainable rate of loss. OP you said you lost faster last time but also admit you did it in an unhealthy way. So accept that healthy weight loss is slow and keep doing what you're doing, which is clearly successful.13 -

I am weighing things out, however I want to be mindful of stuff like this because in the history of history, no one has ever gotten fat on a cup fruit or vegetable. When I lost weight the last time, I didn’t eat if I didn’t weigh it out and that obsession was hard to live by long term. This might be my expectations. I appreciate all feedback! I really do. There is a post about eating under 1200 calories and that was my life before without the health issues, I just happytonfdt pregnant instead of finishing my goals. 7 years later and back to square one!duskyjewel wrote: »Ok! Mm yeah, that original plan you used to lose 100+lbs was dangerous. 1200 should be the lowest you go to. 1lbs a week or 4lbs per month is a good steady pace, I suggest you weigh your food more often rather than teaspoons and cups.7 -
Oh my, someone violated the orthodoxy! Commence flutter!
I lost over 50 lbs in six months measuring with cups and teaspoons, which because I cook, I already had. I'm not carrying a freaking scale around with me at all times.9 -

I think the point is you can disagree without insulting someone else's opinion or with the methods a lot of folks here use.
OP, 4 lbs in a month is good progress, and sometimes it takes a little time for your body to catch up with what you're doing. Normally I'd say that with 100 lbs to lose you can lose a little faster if you want to, but considering your previous methods, maybe staying at @ 1 lb per week is a better idea. If you continue to stay at a standstill, it might be wise to look at how accurate your portion sizes are and how accurate the database entries you are choosing are. But you definitely need to find the right balance for you personally. Good luck!21 -
Note to self: purchase a lovely carrying bag for food scale.14
