Which is better for vitamin D & calcium? almond milk or skim milk?

Skim milk gets most of its vitamin D from fortification, although the calcium is inherent in it. Almond milk is basically almond-flavored water (and arguably wasteful in its usage of almonds, although I like making cashew milk at home and using all the cashews in it, which makes it higher cal). When it has substantial calcium or D, it's from fortification.
Therefore, yes, compare the specific brands, but if you are simply concerned with getting the Vit D and don't care that it's basically from a vitamin (since from fortification), there's no particular reason to prefer either to taking a Vit D supplement (except perhaps price). Same with almond milk and calcium.
Other comparison points -- some have ethical issues with dairy, some have ethical issues with almond milk, they taste different, many brands of almond milk (the almond flavored water ones that contain very little actual almond) have fewer cals, dairy has much more protein, almond milk has fewer carbs (if you avoid the sweetened ones).1
