I do 16:8. I have been fasting that way for over a year now (with some breaks in between).
I’ve had no adverse effects (still get periods, hormones are still balanced, still have enough fat for optimal functioning).2 -
Think about it with an example:
A 16:8 eating schedule would be having breakfast at 10am and finishing dinner at 6pm. Does that seem like something women couldn't do?
If you are aiming to lose weight, bear in mind that simply eating all your calories within 8 hours (or 6, or 4, or 14) doesn't, on its own, do anything. To lose weight you need to maintain a calorie deficit, eating fewer calories than you burn. The good news is that means you can eat whichever foods you want, at any time of day you want, as long as it fits your calorie allowance.8 -
I've been eating 16:8 for 3 months, since I started trying to drop a few.
I just don't wake hungry, I usually eat first meal between 1pm-4pm. But if I wake at 7am hungry, I eat. I don't deal well with feeling hungry or deprived. I get very irritable, lol, my family compares me to the Snickers commercials.1 -
