Another newcomer

new to the boards, but not to the app or to tracking my food...

About 10 years ago I lost nearly 100 lbs using calorie tracking and exercise. I suffered some devastating personal losses and completely lost my motivation to keep track of my food and health, so I put it back on at about 10 lbs a year.

So here I am, back at it. As far as the diet goes, I'm going to be focused on cutting carb intake way down and I figure the calorie count will drop at the same time, but calories won't be my main focus.

About me? I live near Seattle and work full-time as a translator. "Near" Seattle means 1.5-2 hours commuting each way, so one of my main challenges will be finding time to exercise. I am married and have two young daughters, so they get a good chunk of my time, and in addition to my translation job I have a freelance business and am trying to establish myself as a literary (i.e. book) translator. My first translated novel came last month (July 2019 for those reading in the future).
