Craving Sugar

Just a quick question I thought someone out there might by able to help me out. I work 3-4 night shifts a month and I do good at not eating very much refined sugar products the rest of the month. However when I am on nights and I wake up after sleeping during the day all I want to eat is sweet stuff. I don't give in but it drives me crazy trying to distract myself from the cravings. To make it even more difficutl I am a T1 diabetic and am can't just induldge in carbs whenever I want. I also try and stay away from too much as the natural sugars, which are better for you, still impact my blood sugars in the same way. Any ideas on how I might not go insane for the next 4 days as I am starting a new round of nights tonight?

Oops I meant I try and limit my fruit intake as well, as natural sugars have the same impact on my blood sugars as refined sugar treats.0
