Are exercise calories workouts or walks etc or daily steps through fitbit or a tracker ? Also should you eat any or all of those calories back ?

I find when I exercise I no longer accumulate calories for steps
I get one or the other
Eat at least 50% back
Some people can eat them all back and still lose1 -
I don't eat them ALL back because most of these calorie calculators are over estimating , especially MFP...that being said, it's trial and error. Eat back all your calories and see if you still meet your weekly weight loss goals in a few weeks. Adjust as needed.1

just my exercise calories burned.0 -
to start with eat around half back and monitor weekly rate loss for about a month. then look at the data and see if you need to adjust up or down1

I've always eaten all my exercise calories and I lost 70+ pounds as expected and have kept it off for 12 years. You'll have to do a bit of experimenting with it to see if that's true for you. With accurate food logging, it will help. There's a learning curve:

If you are wearing a fitbit it will sync with Myfitnesspal and the adjustments will be automatic.
