Personally, I think you're better off if you meet someone you want to pair with later in life than younger. The reason being that people change (quite drastically, I'm learning) and someone you knew when you met at 20 is not going to be the same at 30 or 40. Their attitudes, demeanor and whole outlook on life can change.
I think you're more likely to meet more well-rounded individuals who are interested in long term commitments later on.
Just my opinion, though.6
