Hi,

Do I need to tell my Fitbit that I’m walking? Isn’t the point supposed to be that it knows how many calories I’m burning based on heart rate etc?

Seems very annoying to start and stop whenever I’m walking around etc

WLkinf is my main form of exercise

Heart rate basically has nothing to do with walking calories. Take your weight in pounds, divide by three, that's how many calories you burn walking a mile.

I use a Garmin with the start/stop feature. I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to decide (not let the machine decide) whether I'm doing a quick walk, or actually going for a walk that I'd like details for and to have on my calendar. I want it to start and end at the right time and place so the map and duration make sense.
