Today's vocabulary lesson: "Chaffing" versus "Chafing." Runners do both. But which is which?

To "Chaff" is to joke or jest. "Joe's chaffing made the run go much faster today."

To "Chafe" is to irritate by rubbing. "This chafing is going to make for one *&*$ of a painful shower!"

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE, and BE A BETTER RUNNER!

And Chuffing will stop any tigers you encounter from seeing you as a snack.

Your being a bit nick-picky, aren't you? (and yes, I know what I did there) :-)

I'd never actually heard the verb "chaffing" before. Good word.

I thought one was a process in removing the inedible husk from a grain or a coffee bean, and the other was a form of heating on a buffet table.

It won't help you loose more weight but it will make you a better runner resulting in lose pants.
