Ok, I've been on a rollercoaster for about 20 years. I have mostly binge dieted. I had great success doing a green smoothie diet a few years ago, but I have put most of the weight back on and this time I am having a hard time getting rid of it. Food is too yummy!!!! And I keep thinking "just one more slice of cheesecake and then I can start dieting again.. mmm cheesecake..." And I know that I felt the healthiest when I followed dr.s orders and went mostly vegetarian, but "...mmmm steak..."
I'm here this time because, honestly, I feel like poop. I am not just dieting. I'm exercising too. I have a few injuries that I have been using as an excuse to be inactive. I convinced myself that I couldn't work out because it just makes everything hurt more and some days I can barely walk as it is. But about 3 or 4 weeks ago I found a free YouTube channel with awesome targeted workouts. I'm starting with the easier stuff and modifying anything that makes me jump for low impact. I already feel stronger. And mornings still suck really bad, but once I get up and moving, I feel better for the whole day! I'm getting my balance back, too.
Chronic pain is very debilitating, not just because of the pain but the depression is very convincing.

If you haven't already, read the stickies at the top of the getting started forum. Very informative and helpful.
Losing weight is caused by being in a calorie deficit. Eat your favorite foods so you don't feel deprived. Make this a true lifestyle change.
Buy a food scale. Weigh everything you eat and log into the food diary.
Good luck with your journey!1
