Hey guys, my name is Monica, my friends call me Mon. I’m 24 years old.
I have always struggled with my weight, while I was younger I always thought that was overweight and I was very uncomfortable in my own body. It’s funny how you can convince yourself to feel so negatively when it comes to your own body, it’s so easy to do, so I got into the whole gym thing, not really to lose weight but to change my mindset and it was great!
Until a year ago....
One year ago I was struggling with multiple issues through out my body, exteam tiredness, PCOS, joint pain in my whole body, poor circulation, pins and needles, migraines, fluid in my legs, my kidneys weren’t filtering properly, multiple blood clots blocking blood flow through out my whole right leg, which resulted in ending up in emergency with a Pulmonary Embolism, to be told I have a blood syndrome, Factor IV (clotting factor) and multiple auto-immune positives, yet to be diagnosed. All these issues went on for months and months without any help, I was in and out of the Emergency/doctors/specialist with no answers, until the PE happened.
I am now on warfarin for the rest of my life, with these issues that have left my body riddled with pain.
I’ve gained weight from not being able to move & exercise, mentally I’m probably at my worst in terms of body positivity and head space, but I am so bloody keen to bounce back from this and be happy and feel good again !
Hope everyone is having a lovely day, speak soon xx

Hi Mon, sorry you had such a rough go of it. But now you can start making yourself better, a little at a time. You may not be able to heal yourself completely, but better is better than worse! It is amazing what your muscles will respond to. They call it "muscle memory" and you may find that yours respond rapidly to any exercise. Just be careful of your tendons and ligaments. After a year+ being away from exercise they could be fragile. Start any training SLOWLY, like a beginner, until you have made sure your body can handle it at increased levels of activity. That goes for cardio and strength training. Hugs and hope you have a super day, too.1
