Problem with facebook notifications on my phone.

I been having issues with my facebook sound notifications on my phone.
My phone will alert me when a facebook friend comments on my status or photo, or if someone tag me in something, and it is supposed to alert me when a friend update their status on facebook, but it don't, it used to, but not anymore.
I don't know if i got something in my settings off or what? Does anyone know how i can fix this? I want to get sound notifications on my phone when certain friends i choose to get notifications from on facebook update their status.

There’s two things

In Facebook go to Settings - Notification Settings and turn on what you want to see.

Then assuming you have an iPhone go to your actual Phone settings then Notifications - Facebook - Sounds

I have a samsung galaxy s7

In my phone settings, the Microsoft Push Notifications is off. Is it supposed to be on? I never noticed it before, & if it is supposed to be on, how do i turn it on? It don't work just to click on the icon.
Also, when my close family update their status, it don't show up at the top of the facebook page at the little bell icon.
