Weight gain

Did you gain weight when you upped calories? I just upped my calories to about 2000 and scale went up by 5 lbs, I am freaking out, it had only been 4 days

I gained 6lbs in water weight from Saturday to Sunday. I weigh usually about 8 lbs more if I weigh after dinner vs my morning weigh in. Food you eat has weight. Water you drink has weight.7 -
To gain 5lbs if fat, you would need to eat 17,500 calories in those 4 days.6

Is 2000 calories maintenance for you? How many calories were you eating before? Where are you in your menstrual cycle?
But, yeah, it's mostly water weight from more carbs, more sodium, and then physically having more food in your body. Read the article I linked above.1 -

normal body adjustment to upping calories. give it a week to regulate and check again.1
