Hanging leg raises

I really need to work on abs but for this particular workout after one set there is no pressure on my abs and it’s all on my legs. I feel like I’m not doing it right.
Any advice?

Strengthen your core first, you can do it in other excercise such as squat or any compound lift and its necessarry to do a breathing pattern to them. Since you have struggle in that hanging variation you can replace it to lying leg raises. From there you can master the proper technique to engage the abs, slow and controlled motion will do same when performing hanging leg raise2

As above I had same issue. Practised on floor then off end of a bench then off end of incline bench. Knee raises now feel right and then next step is leg raises. I had to learn what engaging abs/core felt like. Once I’d got that it’s much better0

If you are lifting your legs by doing knee lifts (or straight leg lifts) while hanging from an overhead bar, you are working your core whether you "feel" like you are doing so or not.4
