Apologies for my cryptic handle and profile, I'm a bit internet shy and prefer to maintain my privacy. I am not a bot!
I'm a 29 year old female and have struggled with my weight since childhood. In high school I topped out at 192 pounds at 5'3. About 8 years ago a light went off in my head. I decided to change everything. No crash diets, no pills, no Atkins/Jenny Craig/WW/paleo/raw food/juicing/blah blah blah, and no excuses. I focused on doing whatever I could to be HEALTHY as opposed to just skinny. Lots of vegetables, organic food, chicken and fish, cutting out all processed garbage, cooking at home, learning about nutrition, you get the picture. I joined a gym and was beaming when I managed to jog on a treadmill for an entire minute without passing out.
One year later I was 70 pounds lighter (and 22% BF). Most importantly, I have managed to maintain this weight loss ever since almost effortlessly. Completely transforming my habits changed my life. I exercise, watch what I eat, and continue to prioritize health.
I decided to join MFP mainly out of vanity--I have a big birthday coming up and want to lose a couple BF % points so that I look extra hot.
If anyone out there needs any help or support, please feel free to get in touch! I'm more than happy to share my experiences, whether it's in regard to major weight loss or those killer last 5-10 pounds.
Cheers
