Lost 100lbs in 7 1/2 Months

2013 has been a life changing year for me. At the end of January I realized that I had a "big" problem, I was tipping the scales at a staggering 296lbs. I can't really say how I ever let myself get to that point...I guess I never took a good hard look at myself in the mirror, or I just didn't want to believe what I saw looking back at me. I had become a 26 year old health risk that just thought I was a "big guy". Thank god I finally came to my senses and decided to put everything I had to bettering of my body and my health. Now 7 1/2 months later and I have officially lost 100lbs. Weighing in today at 196lbs, I have not felt this good in years. I have realized that no matter how steep of an uphill battle you have, if you put in the work and are dedicated and disciplined, you can do anything you want. Mental toughness is the key when it comes to what I have gone through this year. However, I have to thank my wife, my family, friends, and co-workers that have given me so much love and support through this journey. Although I have surpassed all of my goals that I set for myself along the way, this journey is not over. This is only just the beginning, this is my new way of life.
These are a couple of pics from when I was at my heaviest (December 2012-January 2013), along with pics from today at 196

Thank you all! And yes it is the same person.
I took complete advantage of My Fitness Pal and logged EVERYTHING I took in. I also went hardcore with exercise. I was very familiar with the gym, being that in high school I played many sports and was in there all the time trying to "GET BIG" I knew that I wanted no part in that. I dedicated myself to ALL CARDIO. Starting off biking and walking, then moving forward from there. Now I burn on average 800-1200 calories daily with combinations of running & uphill speed walking. I just started the INSANITY workout program this week.0 -
Dang, you went from cute to hott! That was a great story! Most people think they're just naturally big or "big boned", but glad you snapped out of it. Great progression.0

I start my day VERY early for work, so breakfast was always a hard one for me to fit in. I starting taking low calorie protein shakes. (HMR 120 Shakes by Health Management Resources) They are 120 calories each. I have 1 for breakfast each day and another 1 or 2 throughout the day for snacks. I drink A TON of water which helps keep me full. And my dinner I will have pretty much whatever, but I make sure I portion correctly to keep at or under my calories goal. When I eat dinner, I always fill more than half of my plate with vegetables and eat those first. If I am going to get full, I would rather not eat all of a meat or carb and make sure I eat all the vegetables.0
