Counting steps

I am 4'11" and weigh 150 lbs. How many calories do I burn for 10,000 steps? Is there a way on My Fitness Pal to account for steps as exercise?

I believe this was discussed in another thread recently, but I can’t remember the outcome.

MFP doesn’t do steps. You need a device that syncs to get that.

Going off your info, you probably get 3.5-3.75 miles for 10.000 steps.
(I’m 2” taller but am renowned for my short stride)

Using the 1/3 weight x distance travelled formula, which I find accurate, you would be burning around 166 cals for your steps.

If you can track distance, just use the 1/3 weight x distance travelled for your walking cal burn.

Or if accuracy is not too important, give yourself 1.7 cals per 100 steps.
(17 cals per 1000 steps is a slight uptick but nothing that would throw your numbers off.)

    Cheers, h.

Another method (if your steps are consistent) is to change your activity level. This will bump up calories a bit without logging exercise separately.
