How does the Fenix 6 "measure" VO2max?

The Fenix watches have always been able to do this from power and heart rate on a bike, or pace and heart rate for running.
I have a measurement from last week, I haven't been on a bike since August or run in even longer.
I know their VA line will estimate it from walking pace and HR, I can't find any documentation on whether the Fenix does this or not. Wondering if anybody else in here has seen something I missed.

I don’t have time to look it up since I’m in the middle of some serious housecleaning, but isn’t fenix the top-end line? If so, do they still use r-r analysis based on the firstbeat software?
The walking pace/hr model is likely based on the old Rockport walk test and so will be affected by all of the inaccuracies associated with age predicted max HR.0
