Question on how many calories to eat...

Okay, I am curious on how most of you handle your amount of calories per day? Say you have 1400 calories a day- do you try to eat them all, or stay under?
I have 1800 calories a day, and I usually end up under, which I don't mind. I usually am full. However, the last few days I've been doing a lot of cleaning of the house.... I am burning almost as many calories as I am allowed each day. SO, do you eat the calories you burn or just have it be like you have absolutely NO calories left each day? I am just asking for some input, please?

I think it's always good to leave a little wiggle room, in case you estimated incorrectly or missed an item in your diary.

    Ditto.

We're more likely to underestimate our food and overestimate our exercise. Falling a little under gives a safety net for error.

I'm very often within 20 calories of my calorie goal. If I exercise that day, it's much easier to stay a bit further under. I tend to round down with my exercise numbers, and round up when entering food amounts.
