Growing while in calorie defict

I’m starting to lift weights and work muscles for the first time ever. I used to just do easy cardio. I’m in a calorie defict and I’m doing a lot of exercises for my legs and glutes. I want my legs to be smaller, so should I continue doing work outs that target legs because that will make them bigger? Or can I continue to try and tone them slightly. Thank you!

Toning usually means losing fat to see what's underneath.
Working the legs won't cause any spot fat loss.
But it will allow what shows up when the fat is gone to look good.
Actually, it many times helps things look better even before the fat is gone.
Your genetics will decide where fat is lost.
Being in a deficit means you aren't going to make them larger.
Working them means first you tap out the strength you got. Then can get stronger, eventually down the road body would need to build more muscle to actually keep getting stronger.
If doing the right kind of lifting workouts.
You are likely very far from that point.3
