Does "Water Consumption" factor in anywhere?

I am tracking my water consumption within MFP, just curios if the information you put there throughout the day changes anything or is just there as a reminder to drink water?

I think it is just there as a reminder to drink water - or for anyone who needs to track it for specific reasons.

I dont bother filling it in at all myself as serves no purpose for me.

When I was younger, it didn't matter much. Now, I notice that the amount of water I drink does have a bit of impact on how good my joints feel. My general daily habit is about 3 quart jars of water per day - roughly one per meal. That seems to give me the ideal balance between feeling good and spending all my time in transit to or from the bathroom... >_<

It doesn't affect anything else in the app, it's just a reminder and way to track it.

It is kind of like the what you will weigh in 5 weeks projection and giving you a red number if you eat over your protein goal. The true purpose might be best understood as an attempt to confuse new people.

If I don't track it, or at least structure my day so that I drink specific amounts at regular times through the day, I tend to under-hydrate, sometimes to the point of it causing problems/symptoms for me. It's more flexible, for me personally, if I track.

If you're properly hydrated (pale urine is a good sign) without much effort, it's not essential to track.

Some people find that drinking more water helps them minimize hunger/cravings. Other than that, it has no major impact on weight management.
