Hi!
Both myself and my mum are going to start the 30 day shred today! I'm just wondering how I would put this down on my exercise log?
Also how has anyone found the shred? Did it work for you?

I really loved it! had to stop at day 20 because of a sprained ankle though...0

I am doing the 30 day shred I log it as aerobics-low impact if its jillian Michael's level 10

Most people log it as circuit training.0

I may aswell ask it here as opposed to starting a new thread. I started it today and simply couldn't do it without stopping. I ended up doing the whole thing in 7-minute sessions, one at a time. I just literally could barely breathe after the first one though it got a bit easier as I went along because I paced myself better I think.
Anyhow, if there was a fitness scale and Jillians Michael was at 10 while, I dunno, the mum out of What's Eating Gilbert Grape is 0 then I'd probably be maybe a 2 or a 3.
I know people much bigger than me who are still fitter. I have barely done any excercise since... God knows when. I've never been sporty. I get out of breathe just going up a flight of stairs. Though it doesn't help being a smoker!
I guess I'm wondering if the workout is even appropriate for me? I feel like I'm cheating doing it in sessions (although it still half kills me!) so am I better doing a different work out video or even another form of excercise?0 -
I never thought of logging it as circuit training and it would make sense cause its different exercises0

If you have to do it in smaller sessions for a week or so, then that's what you need to do. Stick with it, it gets easier I promise you, I went to my first body sculpt work out at my gym and went home after the 10minute warm up session......I only went home after I had to have lie down and vomit too!!!
Honestly, keep going and you'll will find it gets easier. I am on level 1 of the DVD and still have to moderate the moves so that I don't faint. it's an intense but short workout and despite being fitter now than I have ever been, I still struggle with it a bit. Don't lose heart!! The best bit is seeing the calories you burn doing it, that'll spur you on to do a bit better every time you do the workout.
Good luck0 -

I wasn't sure how to log it but after some investigation, circuits was the answer.0 -
Haha I just saw your post after completing the last 10 minutes of it and almost burst into tears. Blame exhaustion! I can't tell you how much better your post makes me feel too. I feel like every muscle in my body right now has suddenly woken up after sleeping for most of my life but hearing that it gets easier makes me feel like I've achieved the first small step. I take it a hot shower is the best remedy to get through inevitable aches and pains of the oncoming days?0

Stick it out, it will get easier, if yur new to exercise then our doing it the right wa, push yourself a little harder each time, that way you will build up. you could also try running in intervals to tr and build our fitness- just a suggestion. - your doing great - keep up the good work I'm sure your not the first and you definitely wont be the last to struggle with this one!
I just re starting JM 30D shred today after not completing it last year as I joined a gym- since then i have been going to the gm to do body bump/body combat etc, and even after that, today, after just 20 mins, i was dripping in sweat!!0 -

Well done you! It's a good feeling when you do that little bit extra huh!?!
You will most likely ache tomorrow. Last week, I had to have help to climb the stairs for two whole days...and I kid you not, I had to hold onto the bathroom sink and shower door to lower myself onto and off the loo! Such an attractive sight lol
Make sure you stretch before bed and again in the morning. Have a soak in a bath and when you do the dvd tomorrow, the aching will go away....for a bit lol.
Keep it up, awesome job!! :-)0 -
I logged it as circuit training when I did it.0
