I'm pretty sure my hard drive's kaput
This year keeps getting better and better.

Replacing the hard drive myself isn't an option and, if you knew about the time I tried adding memory myself (ONE OF THE EASIEST FREAKIN THINGS IN THE WORLD), you'd understand. It was this whole murder suicide thing.
My huge *kitten* Gateway desktop actually served me well and lasted a long time. I'm more mourning all the music and tv shows that hadn't made it onto my backup drive yet. And, ugh, probably some documents.
Soooooooo I'm a simple girl. I do a lot of downloading and streaming. I've been using it to remote into my work computer. Basic email and googling... I'm still a little old school and started burning cds again.
I don't game or anything but I still want the power.
And I am definitely not a mac girl.
So what are your set ups? What do you use your computers for?
I have old eyes (not in a wise way) so anything hi res I can hook up to my 25 inch monitor would help.
Thanks!

Main rig at work is an older HP Pro MT. It's old but does the job.
I ran Linux as my primary OS for 15+ years. Had to consider an upgrade (forced by h/w fail) and getting a MacBook Air was within $100 for better hardware and native application support with Unix under the hood, so I was all for it.
If I have a choice, though, I use Linux. Just a personal preference.0 -

Also Linux is completely free OS and there are several to choose from - so there’s that1 -
