Potential torn ankle ligament.

Long story short, whilst helping some people around an assault course, I managed to land awkardly and trash my right ankle. I haven't had a proper diagnosis yet, but the A&E doctor said there was some bad soft tissue damage to the ankle.
So, the inevitable physio aside etc., I was wondering if anyone had any good tips/advice/workouts for someone who can't take any weight on their right ankle, but who is desperate to keep the pounds from mounting on. I have plenty of dumbbells and weights etc., and obviously I have my crutches.
Any help would be ideal!

I had ankle surgery last year and during recovery I did a lot of upper body exercises (with weights), abs and when I was able to use my foot again I started with a rowing machine.
Good Luck!0
