How coordinated do you have to be to do Zumba? I'm very uncoordinated!

I am so happy to hear that you found something you enjoy so much!!
Is it hard on the knees? I have had 3 knee surgeries and severe osteoarthritis in that knee. I would like to try some new things but sometimes my knee isn't up to the challenge.

I adore Zumba! I have a class every Monday and it's been such a blast. I have a really enthusiastic instructor and it makes it even better. I don't like to do the same exercises over and over again so I'm sticking to one class for now. I also go to the gym twice a week and I'm doing Chalean Extreme 4 times a week. So far so good, I'm getting a hang of the steps in my Advanced class. They're definitely a bit harder than normal. More footwork.

I'm very uncoordinated myself, and I was able to do this. They don't care if you can do the moves correctly, they just want you there and moving. With repetition you're able to get the moves down. It's pretty fun.

If you do decide to try zumba, just avoid the moves that may cause further injury to your knees. some instructors will have you do squats or twists or something. if they do, just keep stepping until they get back to stuff you can do. and if you decide to give it a try, get dance shoes that would allow you to twist without tweaking your knees.

Yes....you should totally re-arrange your schedule to fit in more classes!!! It isnt everyday you find and exercise that you acutally enjoy!!! I had to re-arrange to get my weekly fix lol!! Isnt it amazing how fast an hour goes during that class? First time I can honestly say Ive ever worked out and wasnt watching the clock!!

I love it too. It's so much fun and burns so many calories. I'm kind of sidelined from it for right now (hysterectomy 6 weeks ago), but can't wait to get back to it.

I have osteoarthritis in my right knee...and although I love love love my Zumba I will admit I do have alot of pain afterwards. Not during, but afterwards. I know there are alot of ways to modify it so that it's not so hard on your knees, but Im in denial so I try to keep up with the healthy people lol!!!

What kind of surgery did you have? Im probably going in in a couple of months to clean out the debris and smooth out the cartildge. Just wondering what the recovery time is? I'm gonna be going through some serious Zumba withdrawls lol

They don't come any less co-ordinated than me! Just don't take yourself too seriously and laugh about it and you'll have a blast! I actually almost left within the first 10 minutes of my first class because I felt like a fool. Boy am I glad I got over myself!
