Someone recommended this site to calculate TDEE. Their recommended calories look right, but they say to eat 1g of protein per pound of weight... for me that is 212 grams of protein!!! MFP has my recommended amount of 52 grams.
Does this sound right? Should I use a different calculator? I will STRUGGLE to get that much protein!

I'm interested to learn why people think so much protein is necessary. I am very active, about 10 hours of cycling and 2-3 hours of baseball per week, and I only get 30-50 grams of protein per day.0

Just adjust the macro percentages on that calculator. If you look, they only have your carbs at 63g per day. Even people on "low carb" diets can go up to 100 or even a little more so that is really, really low. I think even low carbers just eat high fat and moderate protein. 212g is a lot, you definitely do not need that much.
eta: sorry, wrong calculator I had in mind! When I plug my numbers into that one, I have the best results with .35 - .5g of protein per lb of body weight. You can select "custom" and then put your own number in. You can also select "low carb" on the options to the left and then adjust macros by percentage (even if you're not low carb it will give you a better idea). I don't know why it defaults to 1g per lb since most people would struggle with that and it's really not necessary. It does depend on what you're trying to do though.0
