Once you got your goal weight are you happy or do you move the goals ?

The answer depends on the individual. Some people don't have realistic expectations or have a hard time visualising their body objectively. They have a hard time being happy no matter what results they've achieved. Other people set incremental goals constantly for themselves and make adjustments as they go. And there's a while range in between.
What matters is whether or not a person has reasonable and sustainable goals, and the tools to support them.1 -
I think that goals can only bring a fleeting moment of joy so the answer is always to be happy now. There is always going to be a new hill to climb in life.
Something I have come across recently that really makes you stop and think is that people who successfully lose their weight and people who fail to do so both have the same goals. The difference is that the person that succeeds has a more sustainable process. The process is far more important than the goal.5 -
I have an overall goal of having BF being about 15%, but before then I have a goal to get into normal BMI range, then to get to mid normal BMI range, then another to actually see abs after this 1 it is on to the overall goal.1

I don't really have a goal weight. I mean, I'd love to have a normal BMI, but aside from that not a clue at what number I'll be happy. I know how much I weighed at college, but I didn't exercise back then, so I might be happier at a higher weight (more muscle).1

I had a provisional goal weight. When I got near it, I could see and feel that it needed to be adjusted, so I kept losing for a few more pounds. I don't have a seriously distorted body image, so it was pretty easy to decide when I was done losing.
I'm pretty much always reasonably happy, fat or thin. Weight doesn't really affect my self confidence or mood (though it affects lots of other things . . . like health).
Some people set new, different goals once they reach a sensible weight, such as fitness goals. I'm not very goal oriented, so I didn't.
However, I'd point out that maintaining one's healthy weight is also a goal, and if you believe the statistics about regain, not an easy one. (I'm in year 4 of maintenance.)2 -
I didn't have that much to lose so firstly aimed for 15lbs (that would get me to healthy BMI weight) then upped it to 21lbs. Eventually went on to lose 30lbs because I wanted to be the weight I was before I was married 30 odd years ago - which was a little bit too low according to friends and family!
I find it hard to keep at the low end of my range though so am happy with maintaining 126-130lbs / BMI 23 /6th year of maintenance.
In regards to confidence, weight didn't affect that but I hated going shopping and was at the point I was going to need to go up to a UK size 16. I love being a UK 8 now2
