Hi everyone I am not a newbie to dieting, but definitely new to fitnesspal. I have a question to the vets, when you exercise do you eat those calories or stick to your goal for the day, I have not been eating my exercise burned and my summary is way under for the week. Suggestions!!!
Thank you

I'm not a Vet, but for what it's worth, I do not eat my fitness calories. If I end up under my caloric intake goal as a result of exercise I'm really okay with that. That's just me. Good luck to you! Congratulations for taking a step to wellness. :-)0

You must eat back your exercise calories because MFP has a built in calorie deficit already so you would not be eating enough if you didn't eat back your ex. cals.! You will still lose! You will also feel better and avoid bingeing and/or overeating.
I eat 1/2-all of them back depending on how I feel.0 -
Thanks my fiance and i are in a debate about this, he says im not eating enough, because i will burn 400-500 calories about 5 days a week and i have some really hungry days, where others im ok. So i will use at will, but i like the half-all idea.
THANKS!!!0 -
MFP is a NEAT calculator and assumes no exercise. It is designed for you to eat your exercise calories back or you create a larger deficit than the one that has been set for you. If you have an accurate way of determining your true burn (eg.by using a heart rate monitor) then I would eat all of your exercise calories back. If you are using MFP's calculations I would aim to eat half to three quarters of them, as this site tends to overestimate them.
Best of luck :flowerforyou:0
