Anyone else trying to stop smoking while losing weight at the same time? I'm trying to stop and it's proving difficult. Going to go to Boots to go on a programme and get patches and gum to stop.
Would love to support anyone else in the same position ๐

Thank you. It is hard stopping smoking but I believe you can do it too. Just hope that I don't start eating junk food to replace the cigarettes.
I can recommend nicotine patches but from my experience with them previously, if you start to feel sick because of them, get a lower dosage of nicotine. I was given 20mg and had to reduce it to 10mg but then again, I smoke tobacco which is less nicotine and smoke on average 10 per day.
You can also get nicotine cigarettes. They look exactly like a cigarette but they just contain nicotine. ๐0 -
Hello. I would suggest using patches. I used them and though I was allergic to them (swollen and hot area where the patch was)I kept at it until I had the smoking jones off my back.
I am currently trying to quit drinking all alcohol. I feel like I can do this since I quit smoking but it is so much harder. I feel like since booze is not only socially acceptable and encouraged, it is harder. Everyone is like, "have a drink! What can I bring you" You aren't drinking? Why not?" etc etc. At least with smoking you kept it hidden and everyone was disgusted with it.
So in the Alcohol Free world there seems to be counting of days since last drink, how much money you have saved by not drinking etc. I do not want to think about these things. I don't remember the day or even the year I kicked the cigarette habit for good and I am glad. I don't even think about them anymore even though barring two pregnancies, I smoked for 30 years. I want to think about booze the way I came to think about cigarettes. Example: is this relaxing me? Do I feel better after I indulge in this habit? Who do I have to hide this from? Will I have enough to get through the snowstorm? I'm tired of thinking about alcohol in this same way. Let me tell any of you that want to quit smoking and feel weak: I am the weakest person on Earth but I managed to stop this habit. It may take you a few tries but do not give up. Try patches or whatever helps. You can do it.1
