Hi all, I'm just starting out and My Fitness Pal has given me 1200cals a day, which everyone says is not enough.. I'm 45 overweight by 2 stone BMI 30+should I go with 1200 or override it. Thanks

    How many pounds per week did you select to lose? With 2 stone to lose, you should only be going for 0.5-1lb/week loss. Did you choose an activity level that is actually reflective of your days?

    Don't override it... enter in proper amounts and then stick to the number it gives you.
    My guess is you are wanting to lose too much too fast

    The recommendations for sustainability are:

    0.5lb per week loss if less than 25lbs to lose
    1lb per week loss if 25-50lbs to lose
    1.5lb per week loss if 50-75lbs to lose
    2lbs per week loss if 75+lbs to lose

    In addition to good advice above:

    Keep in mind that if MFP calculates your goal (based on accurate entries as per instructions), it intends for you to log any intentional exercise, and eat those additional calories back, as well.
