Dessert/sweet snacks?

Hey guys,

So I've been cravings savoury foods for a while now, which has been great as I'm focusing more on higher protein... until my sweet tooth suddenly came back. I'm getting tired of my usual bowl of Greek yoghurt with honey and some kind of fruit. What do you eat/do you have any recipes for simple dessert like foods that I can have to "finish" my eating?

Thanks! x

Cocoa roast almonds are my most frequent dessert. With strawberries when they are in season.

I also like the lower fat/calories frozen treats like frozen greek yogurt or ice cream bars/sandwichs.

If I have the calories left I also really like dry oatmeal mixed with pb and a little maple syrup

I use sugar free Popsicle to help and skinny cow deserts when I'm really feinding for some sugar. But my absolute favorite is Whipped Cream and any fruit I have. You could even add some granola and/or nuts to it to make it more filling.
Or I do unsweetened almond milk with strawberry's and some splenda.

I started baking my own donuts from scratch. They average around 96-100 calories without glaze. Depending on whay glaze I make, that adds 25-50 calories. either way, 150 cal or less. Look up Wilton Donut recipe.

Also, instead of baking a cake out of boxed cake mix, you can make cupcakes. I usually decrease the oil in the recipe, which only makes the cupcakes bigger and fluffier and less calories. Adding frosting puts it around 175-200 calories depending on the cake mix and frosting amount.

You can find a lot of store bought ice cream for 150 calories a serving. Frozen yogurt for even less.

I always allow myself a sweet snack at night--7 days a week. I have never gained weight during my over year and a half on MFP and am still losing weight. You can eat a real dessert other than "healthy" options and still be successful. Calorie intake and being able to eat what I want has made it easy for me.

A block of dark chocolate is like 50 calories. That was my go-to when I was losing weight.
  • I just posted a recipe for a yummy chocolate milk shake that is low calorie. This might help your craving http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1077883-skinny-chocolate-milk-shake-low-calorie
  • Thanks for all of your suggestions, they sound really yummy!
