I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma. I have to use an inhaler before I exercise. Will this go away when I lose weight?

I have a mild form, it seems to have gotten better as I’ve lost weight, but I think it is more correlated with me being in better shape than the weight loss itself. I can do more before becoming out of breath.2

Not necessarily. I'm on the slimmer side of a healthy BMI, and I still need my inhaler before I run, and when I get sick.2

Mine showed up after losing weight 🤷♀️I have exercise induced asthma, worsened by the cold. I didn’t discover it until I had already lost about 50 lbs and started running.3

Possibly, but probably not. Even young normal weight children get diagnosed with this.
If you are using an inhaler daily or nearly daily, be sure to ask an asthma specialist (not just your regular doctor) about maintenance medications for asthma. In some cases, it is much better to be on a maintenance drug rather than using a "rescue" inhaler regularly.4 -

Rabbit,
The only time I use it is before exercise. Does that warrant a visit to a asthma specialist? I guess since I never had an issue before and it only happens after exercise I didn't consider it real asthma. 😥1
