Do I really use 90 calories walking 20 minutes at 2 mph?
Seems like that's a lot of calories for that amount of time walking slowly!

Maybe.
If you are extremely overweight...
Really all of this is a big old science experiment. If that 90 calories inspires you to walk more, use it. If you are over-weight and have cut calories any amount of exercise is a very good thing and you're going to lose weight regardless.
If you feel like it's too many calories, use half, that's what a lot of people do in the beginning while they are collecting data.
For me, I used the calories given, 100% in the beginning. It worked fine. As I got close to my Goal Weight I had enough data collected to know how many calories approximately I should credit myself when I exercised.
Collect your data and adjust as needed.0 -
You haven't given enough information for anyone to help you.
Distance walked?
Relatively level ground?
Bodyweight?
Beware that MFP estimates are gross calorie estimates and you really want net calories estimates, especially for low METS exercise.0
