Can I count my job as excercise ,
Approved to work I am back to work after a c section and lost all my muscle basically during pregnancy I turned into a xxl potato.
Any who my job require constant lifting of 25-50lbs when getting Ingredients, wash prep butting in buckets using heavy machines and cleaning said heavy machine also I’m always moving ( I have the tendency to move while standing I don’t keep still) I fidgit sway “dance” while standing (people laugh at me for this lol) but I work four days a week the other three days I’m gonna actually excercise, can I count this ? It’s a vigorous job not really any standing around and you are more than one spot I could be cutting fruit one moment loading pallets the next getting ingredient from a cooler next ,
(Also the ingredient aren’t small might require me to put say 100lbs of pineapple into a bucket and such like that so I might pick up like 4 cases of pineapple so on “ (:

Your job comes under the activity setting in your goals set up rather than exercise. It's an average of your job and home life activity but excluding purposeful exercise.
What setting did you select (and why)?

This is how MFP is set up:
- it calculates your NEAT based on your height, weight, age, activity level (settings in MFP) - this is how many calories you burn not counting exercise
- based on your goals (rate of weight loss) it calculates the calorie deficit you need and your daily calorie goal
- exercise is entered separately and increases the amount of calories you can eat that day
So you shouldn't count your job as exercise, you should integrate this info into your MFP activity level setting (average over the whole week).
And enter your exercise sessions separately into MFP.1 -
@sijomial I just started working so before I was on the lowest setting for daily activity because I was on maternity I only did house work and caring for baby and watching my diet in a way. So it’s still there I haven’t changed it because I really don’t want to increase calories and I’m still in the beginning of my journey I’m prone to binge I’m scared if I change it and it says I can have more calories that there’s gonna be a time I look and go “ yeah I can fit this chocolate bar in” little things like that I’m not that good at control yet . Getting there though0

Both changing your activity level to a far more appropriate level and fudging the system by logging your work as exercise will increase your calories - which is a good thing to keep your deficit at the level you picked before your lifestyle change from SAHM to working.
"Control" really needs to work both ways and not just for restricting - do more/eat more, do less/eat less.
Good luck.2 -

If you're working a very active and physical job and eating like a sedentary desk worker, you're going to crash and burn.1
